U-Blog 10
This week I read the Computer World article "4 New Mini Laptops -- Which is Smallest, Lightest, Best?". I've been watching these new laptops, casually called "netbooks" for the past year. I myself would love to have one of these to carry around while traveling, that way I wouldn't have to carry my larger notebook. The netbooks in the article are really nice, but Dell has one called the Mini 9 that I believe tops the others. The Mini 9 has a long battery life, larger keys, and is able to hold larger hard drives if you choose not to go with a Solid State Drive. The thing to remember with these machines is that they are netbooks, not production PC's. They are only meant to be used with casual web surfing, emailing, and creating and editing documents.

I thought about having one since the price was around $350 - $450. But then I have changed my mind because these mini laptops have limited usage, not for high production because of their size. Why not add $100 - $200 more and get a better one but little bigger which have the latest features?
I've been watching these laptops, as well. They seem like they are a great buy because the price is low and cheaper than a regular laptop. Like you said its better to carry around I could stick that in my purse and have it with me all day with no hassle. Great blog choice!
I too have a serious interest in buying a mini laptop. The low prices and extremely small design is what attracted me to the computer a few months ago. One main reason I not yet already purchased one is because I have not found one that has an internal disc drive. Having a disc drive to watch DVDs would be a great feature. But I guess in order to make the laptop significantly smaller, some things had to be eliminated.
